Bridleway

This apparently hand-made kerb will seriously hurt or kill somebody trying to cross it, especially while turning. There are dropped kerbs nearby but people unfamiliar with the area will expect to turn normally into the road.

Bridleway

Continuous footway = good. Ridiculous kerb transition at the junction = dangerous. This will seriously hurt somebody turning across it.

Roadside track linking two bridleways

Two-lane crossing at a roundabout exit for the new link road. This is not good enough - it should be a single lane, and the speeds should be significantly lower. This is dangerous.

The new link road from the Giantswood Lane bridge

Sign for bridleway - but you need to continue a little further on the road to find the actual access.

Some minor rat-running has been blocked by making the east side of this junction cycles-only.

A choice of obstructions to negotiate

Tricky barrier

Cyclists offered a choice of difficult obstacles to negotiate.

What bright spark came up with the idea that a kissing gate is just what a cycle route needs?

@GlasgowCC Is this still a bike lane? Faded paint, totally unenforced, drivers treating it with contempt. St Andrew's Road. @GoBikeGlasgow https://t.co/1K0CTIfjrS

[Image taken 17.4.21] Cargo/delivery cycle at Rougier Street/Tanner Row, York. The rider can only exit backwards. But it's into an advisory contraflow cycle lane. And there's no drop kerb. Visibility is poor and there's a risk of damaging t ... [more]

  • Icon 167326 Including the provision of cycle infrastructure as a condition of planning for private developments is a pointless exercise. This junk is in #Adare Co. #Limerick.
